Spring Reset 2026

Spring always makes me want to sort myself out a little. Not completely change everything, just notice what has slipped over the cosy months and bring some of it back.

I feel like I’ve spent a lot of the colder months indoors, doing what needs to be done but not always putting much thought into the little things that make me feel good. Spring feels like a good time to change that.

Getting ready properly again

I want to put a bit more effort into getting ready, even when I’m not going anywhere particularly important.

I’ve been looking at Spring skincare because I want my skin to feel hydrated and naturally glowy, with that little bit of rosiness that makes you look like you’ve actually been outside. I’ve bought a few things to try and I’m interested to see what I actually end up keeping.

Hair is another one. I’ve never really learnt how to style mine properly, so I’m trying to learn now instead of automatically reaching for the straightener. The goal is a sleek 90s blowout with smooth roots, a little volume and soft curved ends.

Mostly I just want getting ready to feel enjoyable again.

Moving more

I want to get back into strength training properly this Spring.

I like feeling strong and I know I feel better when exercise is just part of my week rather than something I keep restarting.

I also want to be outside more. Walks, gardening, going somewhere with the kids, even just choosing to get out of the house when the weather is nice. I’ve spent enough time inside for a while.

Freshening up the house

I’ve already started this one with Spring cleaning.

I didn’t actually know what a proper Spring clean was supposed to include, which is why I ended up researching it in the first place. It turns out there are a lot of things around the house that gets forgotten during normal cleaning.

I’m looking forward to having the windows open, the heavier winter things put away and the house feeling a little lighter again. I don’t think it needs a whole makeover. Clean windows, fresh bedding and flowers somewhere will probably be enough.

Reading again

I’ve started keeping a Spring Reading journal this year and I’m really enjoying it.

There isn’t a reading target or a strict list. I’m just choosing whatever feels Springy, fiction or non-fiction, and keeping a little record of what I thought afterwards.

I want books to become one of the things I naturally reach for again instead of always reaching for my phone. Reading outside when the weather is warm sounds nice.

Eating well without making it boring

I naturally start wanting different food once Spring arrives.

Fresher meals, fruit, vegetables, lighter drinks and things that don’t feel quite as heavy as winter food. I want to eat in a way that makes me feel good, but I don’t want to turn it into another set of rules.

There still needs to be cake, cafés, picnics and afternoon tea. Those things are part of Spring too.

Making plans

One thing I really want this season is to have things to look forward to.

Nothing huge. I just don’t want whole weeks to disappear without doing anything memorable.

That was really the point of making the Spring bucket list. Go somewhere pretty. Try a new café. Visit the garden centre. Have a picnic. Go strawberry picking. Find somewhere historical to wander around.

Spring always seems to disappear quickly, so I want to make a little more of it this year.

Feeling more like myself

I think that is really what the whole reset is about.

I’m not trying to become a different person by summer. I just want to get back to some of the things that make me feel good and pay a little more attention to how I’m spending my days.

Spring already feels like a fresh start on its own. I just want to meet it halfway. 🌸
